Have you been working on a fitness goal since the new year? Are you looking for a chance to stretch your legs and push yourself? You have a fantastic opportunity coming up with the Tom King Classic Half Marathon and 5K.
About the Race
This is a great race to take part in. It’s a favorite among Nashville runners. This year’s event will take place Saturday, February 23.
It’s the 25th year of the Tom King Classic. In honor of the big anniversary, the race organizers have brought back a favorite element from past years. The finish line for both races will be on the field at Nissan Stadium under the jumbotron. That’s right! You’ll run across the line on the same field where the Tennessee Titans play.
The race also starts at Nissan stadium, and both the 5K and the half marathon have certified, out and back, flat courses. Half marathon runners will see Shelby Park and the Cumberland River on their route.
Race Day
On race day, you’ll want to be sure to head over to the Tom King Classic Half Marathon and 5K early. Park for free in lots C and D, directly across from Gate 1.
You can pick up packets beginning at 6 a.m. You can even register for the races that same day until 7:45 a.m., so you can bring along a friend at the last minute.
The half marathon will start at 8 a.m. followed by the 5K that will begin at 8:15 a.m. The half marathon course will close at 11:30 a.m.
Once you cross the finish line, the fun isn’t over. You’ll finish out your race running through the stadium tunnel and onto the home field of the Tennessee Titans. Then you’ll have a chance to take place in post-race food and awards. Be sure to take time to celebrate your big accomplishment!
