If you’re looking to get out of the house and enjoy some local events this fall, there are lots of choices. Clarksville, TN, has something for everyone, regardless of your age or interests. From food to crafts to games, you can pick an activity or multiple activities and then have something to look forward to doing again the next year.

Handmade Holidays

Thanksgiving and Christmas aren’t far away, so now is a good time to pick out some décor to get in the spirit. Handmade Holidays is a two-day event where you can come see delightful crafts, all made by local artists and designers. As you peruse the booths, you can admire (and purchase) jewelry, paper goods, housewares, clothing, fine art, and much more. And perhaps best of all, it’s free!

This exciting event takes place Saturday, Nov. 13, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday, Nov. 14, from noon to 4 p.m. at the Wilma Rudolph Event Center, 8 Champions Way in Clarksville.

Christmas on the Cumberland

It’s not too early to start thinking about Christmas activities. During this busy time of year, it’s nice to plan and find festive events. Christmas on the Cumberland will bring a smile to your face and help you feel the magic of the season. It will happen on Nov. 23 through Jan. 2 at McGregor Park in Clarksville. This Christmas lights display boasts more than 1 million lights of all sorts of colors and designs. The event runs from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. The display stretches nearly a mile along the McGregor Park Riverwalk.

Furthermore, this event is free and includes other activities. For example, on Dec. 11 and 18, Santa will be there to visit the kids. Free hot chocolate will be available at this time.

Clarksville Christmas Parade

As you fill up your calendars with Christmas activities, don’t forget to mark this one down. The Clarksville Christmas Parade takes place Saturday, Dec. 4, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. It runs through downtown Clarksville, spreading Christmas cheer with lights, floats, music, and fun. But you don’t need a fancy float to participate. For instance, businesses, government entities, and church groups are welcome to take part by walking.
